Diceros bicornisInk, oil and acrylic on canvas24” x 24”2011Here’s a painting I did last year. I had a blast working on all of the intricate lines in the skin, and building up the complexity of the little visible divisions of the patches in between all the wrinkles. The skin is so leathery and interesting! This was also one of the first times when I loosened up my brush work (on the left) in parts so that the main focus was more apparent (the facial features). I still really enjoy this piece.
